When we arrived we were excited to try the food. It was a bar atmosphere which is fine. While waiting for food other patrons were being really loud for quite a while. Screaming and hollering. We asked nicely for them to quiet down a little as we were getting headaches. They were nothing but rude and staff did nothing to help. If anything after we said something staff became rude to us siding with their regulars. Food was very greasy mediocre to average at best. Not a family friendly atmosphere and horrible service. They care more about regulars than wanting to get new customers.

This is our favorite place to stop for a meal. I like to go weekdays during happy hour so we can get in on the free drink special but Saturdays during karaoke are fun too and they have a beer bust. Try the grinder made with graziano sausage. Everyone in there is fun and they treated us like regulars from our first visit. After drinking all night nothing beats bacon wrapped tator tots. They were on the Discovery channel last month too.

Kelly's Little Nipper (KLN) has been an East Side staple for as long as I can remember. Recently, I stopped in to try it again and check it out under it's new management. I'm glad I did, because the iconic bar and grill is better than ever.
Home-made, hand breaded Onion Rings, hand pressed hot Graziano's Sausage sandwiches, and a hand breaded Pork Tenderloin the size of your head are just a few of the menu options that have knocked my socks off so far. At $6 - $8 for a gigantic sandwich and side, it's easily one of the best bargains in town for the amount of food you get.
Honestly, I'm so stuck on the sausage sandwich (with a side of rings) that I rarely get anything else. With it's old school charm and breezy patio, I recommend this place for the downtown/capitol lunch crowd, or munching later, from happy hour to late nights. I love what they've done to the place.

I went to Kelly's Little Nipper last night for the first time. My friend took me and she had been there before and was raving over their tenderloin. She ordered that and I ordered a cheese steak sandwich with onion rings.
I don't know if the cook was mad at the world, just didn't want to be there or got a bad impression from us but when we got to her house with our food, at the bottom of my take out box was about an ounce of grease soaking into the bun on my sandwich. I didn't eat one half of the bun because it was soaked in grease and then at the bottom of my grease covered onion rings was what looked like two old pieces of chicken that had been sitting at the bottom of the fryer for days & were hard as a rock.
When I got to my own home I felt naseaus and wanted to vomit but I didn't (I probably should have). I also had heartburn that I'm still feeling today.
Needless to say I will never go back there to eat, especially when the guy with gray hair and glasses is cooking.

Kelly's is the only place my husband and I will go for a hotsausage sand. and we drive all the way from pella to get it! the drive is def.worth it! The drinks are stiff and the service is very personal from the owner to the cook to the waitress'...they all treat you like you are part of their family. we finally tried the tenderlion this time ...on top of our hotsausages....their one tenderlion would have filled us all up! this place def. desrves to be noticed!

We go to this place for lunch. It's in a crappy neighborhood, the bldg is a peice of crap, but the food is to die for! They have the best bar food in town. Everyone mentions the tenderloin, but I think the 1lb Graziano Sausage sandwhich is a rocker! There is so much meat its insane. Oh yeah, the ladies that serve it to you are really nice too and no one messes with each other even though they know you're not a regular. Park across the street on the West side, go through the back door into a place where no one really cares who you are, they just need you to be hungry! Enjoy!

I got a monster tenderloin made fresh and fries for $4.75, that's awesome, and washed down with a mini-pitcher of Bud

If you can find find this place and park next door, they have the hugest tenderloin known to man. I don't drink alcohol so I don't personally know how they rate there, but the patrons seem to be enjoying themselves.
