Great food and brews

I have loved this place since I was in college at ISU. Its a perfect spot for a dinner with a small or large group. My favorite thing is to visit for some of their home brewed beer and a few of their delicious appetizers. I especially love the laid back atmosphere. A loft area in the bar has pool tables and leather couches for the ultimate chill feeling. Not a beer drinker? Their rootbeer is wonderful too!

Great place to grab a beer

Overall rating:

Old Main is one of my favorite spots to grab a low-key beer in Ames. Their food has always been good-although nothing amazing. I prefer to get appetizers ( a strong point for them in my opinion) and drinks there. True to their name, they brew their own beer and its definitely worth trying one of their recipes. The Dinkey Wheat is my favorite-and one likely impress and wheat beer fan. Not a drinker? Try their root beer! Its a huge place and because of that a good place to bring large groups-its very popular for ISU students after graduation.

Nice to see a brewpub with great food and great beer. A must see for any steak and beer lover. They have quite the menu, so there's something for everyone. And the beer they brew was fantastic. I will be back to dine and enjoy a pint again. Thanks
