We have visited Sambetti's several times and have had great food and service. Love their Saturday special BBQ ribs, they are the best around. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a good meal at a great price.

We buy the entertainment book every year and we enjoy trying new places to eat that we either didn't know about or have never taken the time to try. Today we decided on Sambetti's for supper (a Thursday). My girlfriend and I got the jalapeno poppers for the appetizer, they were tough like they had been in the freezer for a while, and there was ONLY 6 poppers for $5.50! Are you kidding me? Okay, over priced and poor quality appetizer, maybe the main meal will be better...

We both ordered the open face "steak sandwich" because that was the only thing on the menu that was remotely close to matching our BOGO coupon (max. $9) that we had from the entertainment book. It was $9.25 and came with fries. So the main meal arrives, it's very hot and fresh off the grill and out of the fryer. The fries are not soggy but pretty grease soaked like the oil wasn't quite hot enough when they dumped them in and they soaked up some of the grease before they got to the frying stage. The taste was typical bar food for lack of a better description. Kind of like old oil that has had everything including the kitchen sink fried in it. Now for the best part. The steak "sandwich" was a joke! All you get is a 6oz steak grilled to your liking, 1 piece of regular toast cut in half and a slice of tomato and a little lettuce. The steak isn't sliced or anything. No sauces other than your standard table steak sauce (A1, Heinz 57 etc.). The steak "looked" good, but taste and smell was a whole different story. It was cooked perfect to our order (medium well), but that's where the good stops. The meat tasted and smelled like it had been cooked on a grill that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned from other burnt food and drippings in quite some time. I'm a person that rarely ever uses steak sauce with my steak because I enjoy the true flavor of a good steak, but I had to break down and use a fair amount of A1 just to get past the taste.

I don't go to these places looking to get first class food, but I do expect it to be at least tasty and for the prices at this establishment the food quantity and quality could and SHOULD be a lot better. I guess if you are used to cheap frozen dinners all the time then this might be a step up (though I eat frozen dinners that taste WAY better than the food we got here), or maybe when you're half lit up the food doesn't taste too bad. Spent the rest of the afternoon/evening feeling horrible like I'd ate spoiled food or something.

Parking is VERY limited. The waitress was nice, but not overly friendly. She was decent on service. For a final thought... Might be an alright place to hang out and drink, but if you are looking for a decent meal... Go somewhere else, you'll get better food for likely less money. Our bill for the 2 of us with 2 drinks (pop), 2 steak sandwiches, and jalapeno poppers appetizer was $27(before coupon)!!! Completely ridiculous ! Sure glad we had a $9 off coupon!

Great food, people and service. You can get in and out if you want in quick time or just sit back and enjoy the experience. We go to the Mercy Hosp every 3 months and this place has become part of the appointment!!!! We love it!!!!
