Des Moines and its suburbs have their fair share of sports bars, and on Sundays one can bet their televisions will all be tuned to NFL matchups. Here are three locales we recommend you visit to cheer on your favorite NFL team.

1. Johnny’s Hall of Fame

Find it: 302 Court Ave.

As one of Des Moines’ oldest sports bars, Johnny’s has long been a favorite for watching various sporting events. Its spacious interior accommodates the masses, as does the wall of televisions that could dwarf that of an electronics store showroom. Though it offers a full menu of standard American fare, this downtown bar has also been known to offer free popcorn.

Specials: $12 buckets of beer and $2 well drinks on Sundays

2. Down Under

Find it: 8350 Hickman Road, Clive

Down Under is a west side sports bar with a bit of an ego, as its website is greatestbar.com. But with 20 flat screens, a large covered patio, a full menu of bar food and the occasional additional food special and a bevy of video and other games of skill to keep you busy during halftime, Down Under has perhaps earned its URL.

Specials: $1 off all drinks on Sundays

3. Saints Pub + Patio

Find it: 265 50th St., West Des Moines

Enjoy the fruits of football weather at Saints Pub + Patio’s enormous covered and uncovered patio. And the best part is, it’s served by its own outdoor bar, so one needn’t have to go far for a refill. With more than 20 televisions serving the indoor and outdoor seating areas, odds are in your favor that your favorite team will be on screen in this West Des Moines bar and restaurant.

Specials: Sunday drink specials include $4 mimosas and bloody marys, $1 off pints, $1 off well drinks, $2 off pitchers, $2.50 domestic bottles and $3 margaritas.
