3 bars for ... throwing bags

Bags (or cornhole, if you want to make people giggle), isn’t just for tailgating before football games. As long as you can hold a beer in one hand and toss a bean bag with the other, you’re good to go. With patios open, more bags boards are showing up outside. Here are a few worth checking out.

1. Beechwood Lounge, 416 E. Walnut St.

This East Village bar is a prime location if you’re jonesing for a game right after work. It’s a good place for a casual game between friends.

2. Cabaret West Glen, 560 S. Prairie View Drive, West Des Moines.

Despite the close association with beer, there’s nothing wrong with sipping a signature martini while playing bags. Cab West Glen is a popular after-work destination, with bags games happening regularly on the spacious patio.

3. The Thirsty Sportsman, 4808 S.W. Ninth St.

The weather may be nice now, but what if you want to play bags during a downpour or in the middle of January? The Thirsty Sportsman has your needs covered, with two sets of indoor bags boards. Now that’s convenient.
