Great Ingersoll Bar

I love Zimms. One of my favorite parts about the bar is the fact that it has two, large and different seating areas. The first area is usually a bit laid back, with people eating and often watching a game. The back bar is generally where the music is loader and people are getting a bit rowdier at night! They have a 2 juke boxes (one in front and one in back), silver strike, buck hunter and my favorite-the shuffle board table. You can always get a drink, whether it be from one of the two huge bars or a waitress. They also have pretty good food. I recommend their chicken fingers and honey mustard. Its a really great place in the summer because they have a spacious deck. Adding more room to the already huge, yet somehow cozy bar.

Overall rating:

Always ice-cold beer, great food and a man's place to relax without goofy women = my favourite place in Des Moines.
Used to go 4x a week.
No smoking now = I don't go = not spending $200/wk there.
Great tips = great bartenders = Hey Mary Mike Erica and Nick-go Cubs!

Zimm's = Great Happy Hour

Zimm's has a great Friday happy hour from 4p-6p. Lots of friendly Iowans sneaking out of work early to get started on the weekend. Their shuffleboard table and patio add to the laid back atmosphere. It's a jeans and tee style and you would look out of place dressed up any more. Good happy hour specials and a fun place to watch a game.
