Sangria and tapas: They not only go together, they’re made for each other.
Trostel's Dish has got this one down, and they take advantage of their extensive wine collection to brew up about a gallon of sangria a night. Pinot Grigio is used for white, and fruity Shiraz for the red. Added in are limes, lemons, oranges, lemonade, and a simple syrup. After the potion has set, it’s prepared in a 6-ounce serving in a stemless wine glass delicately garnished with a sugary cherry and a slice of lime.
The Price: $8 a glass for both white and red.
The Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars for red; 3 out of 5 for white. The Shiraz makes Dish’s red unique, and the heavier taste will please those with a palate made for wine. It also goes beautifully with their Spanish tapas (we recommend pairing it with chorizo in red wine sauce, $8). The white was tasty, but fairly average.
