A frequent haunt of ours

This place seems to be a pretty consistently sweet place to hang out.

My friends and I have been going there for a while, and started at first thinking it was going to be the same as Mickey's in Clive but its not at all. I heard someone call this place "Mickey's for grown-ups". I laughed but its kinda true. My buddies and I never go to the other Mickey's anymore. I'm just not down with the loud rap music and college scene anymore. Waukee has the same pubby atmosphere without the headaches. The staff seems to be the same people for quite a while which is nice. Many of them remember me and what we drink. I've never had a bad experience though.

Last time we even saw they put in a lounge area with leather couches. Its perfect. I'm heading up there next time I'm in the bar.

I have been to Mickey's and I like the friendly greetings and tasty drinks. The place is good to go if you have friends your hanging with but if your looking to pick up women it isn’t the sceene for you (the women working are flirty and fun, especially the redhead).

Ive been going to Mickey's for quite a while off and on and love the changes the new ownership have made. People remember me from the last time I came in which is more than I can say for most places. We rarely miss bands there on the weekends. I can't stand paying cover charges for local places and they don't charge them which is cool.

Mickey's is the kind of place you can feel comfortable chilling in during the week when it's relaxed atmosphere, and packed rocking house on the weekends. Easily the best bar for miles, and the only choice for my wife, friends, and I when were in this area. Pretty good grub as well. The portabella fries are a tad greasy but I dream about em. So good.

Oh, to the other poster. I was a bartender in college and I can attest that most times if the bartender is ignoring you on a slow night, there is a good reason for it. Just sayin.

The bartender I think he said his name was Chris was to busy hitting on the women there to get people drink and when he wasn’t be rude to people he was texting I would never go back there again and I think you shouldn’t go there unless you want to not drink and be treat with no respect
