Des Moines' best happy hour free food

There are a lot of great happy hours in Des Moines that offer reasonable drink and appetizer specials. However, my friends and I were craving something more: a happy hour with free food on a Friday night.
Did it exist, we wondered?
The warm summer weather triggered my nostalgia for my bygone college days and the great nights spent at the local FAC (Friday After Class) happy hour soaking up the cheap specials offered in the best of college towns (Ames). Happy hour after a long day at work is awesome, but truly enjoying happy hour demands no looming thoughts about the next day's early-morning meeting.
Finding free food on a Friday night was not an easy task, and any recommendations are greatly welcomed! (Please add comments to this story!) Here are a few spots we visited, and some worthy mentions that while they might not offer free food on Fridays, they do go above and beyond the discounted appetizer or popcorn machine and offer free food other nights of the week.
