Scummy place for scummy people.

Bathrooms where dirty, the bar idea was dirty. To top it of I was just minding my own buisness walking down some stairs and some "bodyguard" lunges at me for no reason whatever, sucker punches me off the stairs. All 130 pounds of me, im not there to cause trouble was just having a good time. Then he has is buddy outside with brass knuckles, punches me and runs off like the lil poon he isl. I've been punched harder by a femaile without the brass nuckles..

A LOT OF DRUNKS AND A LITTLE SECURITY

A while back I saw a tall white guy slam a little black guy down from behind. Omg the little guy hit the floor so hard he could barely get up. When he did get up he was limping. Not one f-ing security gaurd tried to help him. Once he punched the tall white guy in the nose the cops were called and he was arrested. Omg - what dah flock? Those security guards never told the cops what really happened and that the little guy was attacked from behind for no reason except for a drunken bully picking on the little guy!

Not the Place To Be

Was out Friday nite with some gal friends. We stopped by the place around 11. The tables and bathrooms were dirty. We sat at the patio and didn’t get good “vibes”. The drink prices are good but that is all. Not the place to be seen. Lot more trendy clubs downtown.

iowa cubs fan

So I've tried to get into this place after an Iowa cubs game. My buddy and I walked up to the door and we were told that we couldn't come in because we had baseball caps on. As I look through the pics of this place I see people with baseball caps on. Really, I get turned away because I have a hat. Wearing a dress shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap apparently makes me inapporiate to attend a bar. I will never go to this bar when there are plenty of other places downtown that are much friendlier.

Not exactly my scene-but a cool place

I dont really like the high energy, dance bars, but 101 is a pretty cool place. I like to stop by earlier, or on nights where there isnt a DJ. Ive headrd there are some really talented ones there from friends that enjoy it. They have a nice patio, and the staff has always been extremely friendly. Im glad Des Moines has a spot like this, even if its not exactly for me.

Stay away if you're clean

Overall rating:

Spent some time here on a Saturday night. Attentive service was the only plus. Sleezy atmosphere and very unwelcoming crowd. I am (and dressed like) an educated graduate student with three friends who all got "what the hell are you doing here?" looks amidst the crowd. Didn't stay long enough to get too frustrated though.
