It’s that time of year again. You know, when everyone thinks its Mexican Independence Day and drinks a bunch of Dos Equis and Corona. Cinco de Mayo actually celebrates Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla, which happened 150 years ago. So squeeze a lime into your drink and toast to Mexico’s defeat of Gen. Charles de Lorencez. That guy sucked.

Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl

Cinco de Mayo Most Interesting Bike Ride

Info: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Flat Tire Lounge, 303 S. Madison St., Madrid.

A fundraiser bike ride kicking off at the Flat Tire Lounge with stops at the Nite Hawk in Slater and Crossroads Tavern in Kelley. Specials include $3 Dos Equis draws, $8 Dos Equis pitchers, $4 margaritas and $4 Mexican Car Bombs. $25 to register. (515) 710-8914.

Festival Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo – A Celebration of Food and Frivolity
