Party at "Swannakuh" next week

If you're looking for a reason to party all day, look no further than "Swannakuh," a buddy birthday event that began in Iowa City four years ago and has moved to Des Moines (el Bait Shop, to be specific), for it's fifth celebration.

Swannakuh will kick off at noon on Saturday, March 6 at el Bait Shop. The day's festivities will include a flippy cup tournament, free beer, food from Fong's Pizza and el Bait Shop, live music and more. Here's the adgenda:

Noon-1 p.m.: T-shirts (designed and printed by Raygun) and Swannakuh bracelets will be handed out to partiers. Sign up as a team or individually for the Flippy Cup Tournament - $100 goes to the winning team. Free keg beer will be provided, while it lasts.

1-1:30 p.m.: Watch comedian Eric MacDuff perform.

2:15-3:45 p.m.: Flippy Cup Tournament.

4-6 p.m.: Live music by Chris Ranallo and Micah Wagner of Decoy.
