Halloween costumes: Twitter
October 21, 2008
Pay tribute to the social networking site that has connected so much of Des Moines’ tech savvy community this year. Plastic bubbles allow you and your friends to update your statuses throughout the night. And if you don’t feel like talking, just hold up the fail whale-on-a-stick.
Total cost: $17 for a turquoise T-shirt, foam core board, poster board, dry erase markers and nylon cord. (We had tape, a plastic box, paint brush and markers.)
How we did it: Printed out logos and avatars from the Web and glued them to a piece of foam core board. Added plastic bubbles and attached a marker. Hardest part: Finding a clear surface that a dry erase marker could write on. Plastic containers cut to size work best.
