Des Moines Comic Book I-Con
When I headed out to Des Moines Comic Book I-Con on Saturday afternoon, I decided to keep my eyes and ears keenly open. How else would I be able to capture the true essence of this event, put on by the Iowa Comic Book Club, that brings so many together in the spirit of the idea that anything is possible? With this in mind, there is no better way to open this gallery than with Des Moines resident and Star Wars fanatic Rachael Rhoades, 25, finally lightsaber dueling Darth Vader (Tom Rolf, 23). He may not be her father, but this event was no less life changing. She may well have been Luke Skywalker.
