UPDATE: Engeldinger's obituary has been posted.

Brad Engeldinger, who spent time drumming in High & Lonesome, Brother Trucker, The Body Electric and other Iowa acts passed away Saturday in a car accident.

Visitation for Engeldinger will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Schuter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave.,
Decorah and a remembrance will follow that at Big Canoe Church, 1381 Big Canoe Road, Decorah.

Several of Engeldinger's former bandmates are sharing their thoughts on him on Facebook.

David Zollo, High & Lonesome/Body Elecric frontman: "I can't express how shocking this day has been, but I am so very grateful to have shared the many amazing experiences I did with this incredible man and musician. To say he will be missed doesn't even scratch the surface. Somewhere the band just got a whole lot funkier."

A comment from Brother Trucker on the band's Faceboogk page: "The extended friends and family of the Brother Trucker Band would like to offer our sincerest sympathies to the Brad Engeldinger Family - drummer, friend. Reports are that Brad was tragically killed in a car accident last night. Brad played with the early version of High and Lonesome and Dave Zollo's Body Electric. I'm proud to say that he played with Brother Trucker as well. I remember a fast 2 hour run through - before we hit the road to play in KC at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club. Brad played with such honest joy and passion. If we could all just let go in be in the moment like he could... if you saw him play, you know what I mean. It is something all musicans should aspire to achieve. It really is a very sad day in Iowa Music. A really good man is gone way too soon. He leaves behind a wife and two little ones - and a LOT of people - who are so much better for knowing him. Till the next time we see you Brad. Love Always. Brother Trucker."
