Emily Maynard is finishing up her journey of love in Curacao, a Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela.
"I've been waiting to get to this point with these guys for so long," she said. And so have we, Em!
The opening scenes of Monday's Bachelorette showed her in a blue maxi dress, walking by the beautiful turquoise waters as she mulled her three men.
(By the way, an ABC rep tells Liveline Live the show didn't take photos of Emily's dates last week, this week or next week, so these shots are from previous episodes. Sorry.)
"I'm at a point now where I feel really, really strongly about each of the three guys that are here," Emily says.
Sean, 28: "I think it was love at first sight. Sean is so many things that I want in a husband."
Arie, 30: "Our connection was almost immediate. We just really hit it off. He's funny and doesn't mind making fun of himself. ... I call Arie "Sweet Arie" because he just is! ... I just know that he would be my best friend. That he would love me forever."
Jef, 27: "I love his style. He is so his own person and he doesn't care what anybody thinks. ... He has his own quirky sense of humor that I absolutely love. ... He makes me laugh more than anybody else. ... My connection with Jef is unlike any I've had in a long, long time. I feel like he gets me in a way nobody else does. I feel like he would make the best husband and the best stepdad ever."
And so it began.
First date: Sean. Emily's wondering why Sean hasn't told her he loves her. After all, Arie and Jef have.
She whisks him off in a helicopter to a private island. It's breezy. Emily's burnout T-shirt is waffling in the breeze. She has a bikini on, but we're not seeing it yet. They sit on the sand and talk, the sun making Sean squint. Emily's puffy lips are pursed as she listens to him talking about a past love. He finally asks her to go snorkeling. They strip down, wade into the water and start smooching.
"I wonder: Does he love me? He hasn't said it," Emily confesses.
Cut to the night. They park themselves on blankets on the beach, surrounded by candles. They both look tan and healthy. Emily's wearing another maxi dress and her hair is beach wavy.
Sean whips out a letter he has written to Ricki. "I hope to honor you by loving your mom with every ounce of my being," he reads in the fairly brief note.
"Thank you, I love it," says Emily. He recalls last week's hometown dates and says, "I knew going into that date I was crazy about you ... and I knew they were going to love you, but I didn't expect my mom to say she'd be thrilled if we got engaged." The affirmation is allowing him to "move on to the next step."
He says, "I can't picture my life without you."
She rubs his arm and smiles.
"I have fallen in love with you - and I know without a shadow of a doubt," he says. They kiss.
"It's awesome to hear Sean tell me everything he's feeling," Emily confesses. "I feel like he's totally ready to be a dad and be married. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world right now."
She pulls out the overnight fantasy suite date card from host Chris Harrison. "I would love the chance to stay up and spend the time with you and talk to you and no distractions - just be with you," he says. Emily replies that she'd "love to spend every minute" with him.
It's finally hot tub time! Emily's busting out of her bikini (Us Weeklyreported she got breast implants before the show.) as they soak in a whirlpool. They kiss. "Sean is so hot and so manly," she confesses. She wrestles with whether to stay the night with him or not. In the end, he leaves.
"I'm a mom. It just doesn't line up with what I believe in," she tells the cameras. "I don't need that extra couple of hours to be around him. I already know how I feel about him."
Second date: Jef. He worries that there are still two other guys and "it's not over yet. It's not over until I propose to her," he says firmly.
They meet on the beach. Emily's got a hot pink cover-up on over her bikini. They hop on a sailboat, where it's so breezy the ABC sound man must be going crazy. We hear a lot of wind as the two of them chat about parents - his parents, being a parent and more. They talk about how they balance each other out. "You get me," she says. "I feel like you get me, too," he says.
They pull into a cove and drop anchor. He paddleboards her into shore. They kiss and kiss. "Every time I look into Emily's eyes, I'm reminded I love this girl," he says. "And I want to spend every day with her." Love, love, gush, gush. No one's holding back on feelings here. "She is the most amazing, beautiful girl ever." The sun sets as they smooch some more.
Cut to nighttime. Emily has on a short, sparkly, fancy tank dress. She and Jef are seated at a table underneath the trees. He toasts her, hoping for "a lot of future dates" like the one they had today. Then he says he has some "details" he wants to know.
Where does she want to live? "I really like the idea of starting a whole new life somewhere, the three of us." She says she wouldn't expect him to move to Charlotte. If he wants to be in Salt Lake City, she'd be "happy" because he's there.
Why hasn't she found a guy yet? She says she has gone out with guys but they just haven't had "it."
She tells him that he makes her laugh and smile and gives her "self-confidence."
He says he has never met anyone that enabled him to see "the end."
With Emily, he says, "I can see the most amazing picture perfect end to this whole thing. I've never met two people who are more perfect for each other." He goes on to say he wouldn't change "one thing" about their romance. "I'm crazy about it - where we are and where we're going." It's clear he's nuts for her.
Then he asks if she thinks he's a "good fit" for Ricki. It's a sweet moment.
"I think about that a lot," says Emily, and she envisions Jef doing mundane things with them. "You'd be a perfect fit."
She whips out the overnight date card and asks what he thinks about it. "I think it's be awesome to forgo our individual rooms and spend some time in the fantasy suite together, but I completely understand your daughter's going to be watching this and my family's going to be watching this and your family's going to be watching this. I think there's a time and a place. I plan on spending every night with you in our own fantasy suite."
Swoon! Emily thanks him for that. She invites him up to "hang out" for a little bit, but not spend the night. They kiss and he says, "I love you."
Last, but not least: Arie. She waits for him on a catamaran. She's got a colorful coverup on over her suit. Arie comes bounding up and kisses her. They head out to sea and keep on smooching.
They get into the water to swim with dolphins. "Oh!" says Emily as one bumps into her. "Dolphins are not that scary, but it scared me," she says.
"Emily is the love of my life," he tells the cameras. "There's such a chemistry between us it's hard to even talk. We always want to kiss each other."
They talk about all the good moments they've had. And they kiss some more. "I love kissing Arie," she says. "It's going to be hard not to have an overnight date with Arie. Because I love kissing him."
Cut to dinner. Emily says she wants to find out if there's more to Arie than just their "chemistry." She asks him about his day-to-day life. She tells him she would be happy to move to Scottsdale, where he lives, if that seemed best for all of them, including her daughter Ricki.
He asks what her expectations are for a father figure. "At the end of the day, I just want somebody that's going to love my daughter like she's their own." She explains that Ricki doesn't know what a father-daughter relationship is like. Arie says he hopes to start out as a friend and the relationship can build. "There should never be a rush on that."
They talk about what an easy time they have being together. And she talks to the cameras about having the hots for him. "I just want to be touching him," she says. For that reason, she decides not to give him the date card. "At the end of the day, I don't trust myself. I won't let myself go there. But good lord, he's hot."
She says, "It makes me really sad. I would love nothing more than to just be with Arie and enjoy a moment."
Final rose ceremony. Emily's wearing a long skirt and a gray tank top. Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail. She chats with Chris Harrison about her decision, saying she sees the good in each of her guys and could see a future with each of them. "This week more than ever I just wish that there was more time."
It's not happening, says Chris. "Tonight is it." It's the last rose ceremony. It's proposal time next, he says.
He leaves her to watch a video message from each of the guys. She appears to be crying, but it's hard to tell until her voice cracks. "I just feel really bad," she says, her eyes glistening. She says what's making it hard is that she has "three great guys." Otherwise it would be easy. "I've just had the best time! I've loved every minute I've spent with these three guys."
As she watches the final videos, a tear falls down her face. "I don't think any of them think it's them," she says. (In other words, she led each of them on? You think?)
Final moments: Emily tells Sean, Jef and Arie, "I care so much about each of you. And I'm sorry."
She picks up one rose.
Oh, the suspense!
"Jef." He accepts the rose.
She picks up her second and final rose. "Arie."
Emily covers her eyes with her hands. Awkward! Chris Harrison enters and says, "Sean, I'm sorry." He hugs the other guys and approaches Emily. They hold hands and walk out. A dog barks in the distance. They sit on a bench in silence as she sniffles.
"I'm not sure what to say," says Sean. "I feel kind of stupid. I was ready to spend forever with you." She starts crying. He's not crying.
He says, "I care about you, ultimately. If this is the best for you..."
She thanks him and follows him to the big black SUV. He gives her a hug. In the car, he says, "Honestly, when she walked out tonight, I said in my head, 'That's my wife.' ... I pictured myself with her and Ricki and that big family she wanted."
Over the amusing closing credits, we got to see Arie do about 10 takes of his heartfelt final video to Emily.
Next week: The Men Tell All. And a scheduling update: The Bachelorette finale will air Sunday, July 22, from 8 to 10 p.m., followed immediately by a live After the Final Rose special at 10 p.m.
