Hi ho, Kermit!

The mischievous Muppet stole the show Tuesday night in Las Vegas during Disney's footage presentation, which included news of a Muppets 2 movie and that Jack White will provide the soundtrack for The Lone Ranger, due May 31, 2013.

Ranger producer Jerry Bruckheimer told the CinemaCon crowd the movie will be told through Tonto's eyes, as played by Johnny Depp. Armie Hammer (The Social Network) plays the masked gunslinger.

No details were released on the Muppets sequel, but Kermit and Miss Piggy were already on point. They descended on stage to promote their movie -- and make a pitch for other roles. Wearing a mask, cowboy hat and riding atop a toy horse on wheels, Kermit said he needed the role of the Lone Ranger after not landing The Hulk in May 4's The Avengers.

When a Disney exec asked him why he kept calling his horse "Sliver," Kermit dropped the guy flat.

"I am totally naked riding a plywood horse," the puppet dead-panned. "You figure it out."

The second-biggest laugh of the evening went to the normally reticent Depp, who looked baffled when he took the stage to promote Ranger.

"Did anyone else see a frog in a mask on a horse?" Depp asked the crowd. "Or am I alone here?"
