Hot on the heels of Joy Behar's big exit announcement comes an Us Weeklyreport that says Elisabeth Hasselbeck will not be on The View when next season rolls around.

Behar, 70, said Thursday she's leaving the show in August after more than 16 years.

Hasselbeck, 35, joined the cast of the daytime talk show in November 2003 after guest-hosting following Lisa Ling's departure in 2002.

Us Weekly says "the show's resident conservative voice is being ousted after market research revealed that she isn't popular with TV audiences." Us cites Hasselbeck's argument with Rosie O'Donnell in 2007 over the war in Afghanistan and another with Barbara Walters over Mitt Romney in 2012.

The celeb site says Hasselbeck was told "yesterday her contract would not be renewed."

But not so fast.

Hasselbeck hasn't commented on twitter, but ABC says in a statement to USA TODAY, "Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of The View and has a long term contract."

UPDATE: Two unnamed sources tell TV Newser that Hasselbeck will not be back in the fall.
