There's already a shake-up on ABC's new singing competition show Duets, which won't hit the air for another few weeks.

It looks like Lionel Richie is out and John Legend is in as one of the mentors on the show, which also will star Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke. Richie dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

The quartet will travel the country looking for talent in unexpected places and then choose singers to perform with them onstage each week. The winner will receive a recording contract.

"I'm thrilled to be part of Duets, and I'm looking forward to finding an undiscovered gem out there," Legend says in a statement. "This is going be a lot of fun."
