Weeds is going up in smoke.

The eighth season of Showtime's series about a drug-dealing mom (played by Mary-Louise Parker) and her wacky family will be its last, Showtime said today.

David Nevins, Showtime's president of entertainment, said in a statement: "We all felt that it was the right time and right way to end it. It was very important to us that we bring the story of Nancy Botwin and her family to a satisfying conclusion for the devoted fans that have spent years supporting this series." We'll have to stay tuned to see what the end will be.

The final season of Weeds will begin on July 1. And the series will mark a milestone during the season: The 11th episode will be the series' 100th.
