I don't go to the Drive In for quick service just a fantastic time for cheap. I have no complaints there. Great movies, great fun, if youre worried about standing in line bring your own stuff. Just leave the grills and dogs home.
Report This ReviewExtremely disappointed in the staff at the drive in. My friends and I have been going there all summer. It's fun, cheap, and something to do other than go out to the bars. We love supporting local business, and have told countless people about the theater and have brought them a lot of business.
Upon our last visit a few days ago, my sister and I went into the concessions area to get popcorn. We started a conversation with the girl working there, talking about the book she was reading, and even telling her how much we loved the drive-in and hoped it never closes. I was half sitting/leaning on the counter and an old man stormed in and told me to "get down". I apologized and immediately did as he asked, and he continued with a raised voice "this behavior is unacceptable! you need to leave! We don't want your type here!" I asked if he meant the theater or just the concession area, and he said "Maybe both! You need to get out or I'm calling the sheriff! I want to see your tickets!" We tried to calm him down but he was extremely worked up, raising his voice, he even grabbed my arm when he told me to leave. He followed us out to the car ranting and yelling; he kept saying "we don't want your type here! you guys didn't pay for your tickets!" Before we could even provide ticket stubs he told us to leave immediately or he was calling the sheriff. We left, all very confused about what just happened and disappointed. I called and asked for the manager, who was unapologetic and accused us of not paying for tickets and drinking alcohol. I told him that he was basing everything off of assumptions and had no proof, but he wouldn't listen, was very rude and said that "he was too busy to talk". I said "Really? You're too busy? there was barely anyone there when we left." He said yes, he was in fact too busy and then hung up on me.
It's really sad when such an awesome place is ran by people with no customer service skills. What do they mean, "we don't want your type?" What type are they talking about? Gay? Straight? Tattooed? Mid to late 20's? Or maybe they mean young servers, bartenders, teachers and business owners who had an abundance of cash and endless connections. If that's the type they are talking about, their business will be failing soon, if it already isn't. So all in all, the drive in theater has been a pleasurable experience up until having to deal with the staff. I won't tell you not to go there, but here's some advice if you do:
DON'T lean on the counter.
Report This ReviewExcited to visit a drive in theater, it's been since I was a kid, so we brought our kids. Was told to move my chair by the proprietor, and so I said Yes sir, and he said NOW! My husband called him after the show and the proprietor said I looked like I was going to challenge him, and he didn't have time to argue. Don't know how "yes sir" looks like a challenge, but then he hung up on my husband. I have never been treated so poorly by an owner, much less any establishment. Take your money and memory making times elsewhere.
