From James Franco & Anne Hathaway's uneven hosting to Melissa Leo's bleeping win

I agree with the review completely. Franco should have just quit while he was losing. Hathaway appeared to be the only hostess even trying. What an unfortunate pick. I would love to see Alec Baldwin or Billy Crystal or Steve Martin.

What a bizarre perception of last night's ceremony this is. "If there's one word to sum up the Oscars is: awkward". Sure. The hardest part of defending this is that I can't argue against an opinion. I can express my bewilderment though, and if you didn't find Franco's refreshing laid back demeanor and funny delivery and Hathaway's enthusiasm at all worthwhile, I just don't know how you can simply dismiss the whole thing as a failure. It seems like you're being negative for negativity's sake. Well, that makes for more fun writing than praise, I guess...
