A corpse rises from the dead, chainsaw in hand, murder on its mind. As it lunges at our hero, Ash (Bruce Campbell), he blocks the blade, grabs the attacker’s arms and enters into a tug of war. In one of the most glorious zombie splatterings of all time, Ash stops the would-be killer dead in his tracks, pushes back against the attacker’s arms and lifts the chainsaw high in the air. He keeps pushing, and bends the zombie’s hands backward until it slices itself with its own chainsaw. Maybe it’s assisted suicide for a creature of the graveyard?
