Nicole Kidman: Lead actress, miniseries or movie
Nicole Kidman is at home in the south, with her family. "I'm in Nashville. In the heat," says the Oscar winner, who's nominated for HBO's Hemingway & Gellhorn.
For her, the nod is "a huge acknowledgment of this movie. We put so much work into it. I wasn’t expecting it. I didn't know the nominations came out today which is a great way to find out. (My publicist) just called me. And it was good news."
She's spending her day with daughter Faith and Sunday. "We're going to have popsicles. Both of them are in a little pre-school summer camp thing at the moment. I'm taking the little one to a music class and then we're picking Sunny up and getting popsicles. No champagne for me," says Kidman.
Her summer is part play and part work. "I've been working on the Grace Kelly movie. I'm prepping it now. I want to really go in with my homework done. It's fascinating," she says, of playing real people. "I want to find the way their mind works. With Martha that was easier because she wrote so much. With Grace, I've got to dig around more and find footage of her speaking."
And she's looking forward to attending the Emmys. "It'll be fun to meet some people at the awards show. It's like being invited to a different prom," says Kidman. -- Freydkin
