Zooey Deschanel: Lead actress, comedy
One girl was flying particularly high this morning. “I was emailing with Max Greenfield (who was nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy), and texting with Jake (Johnson),” said New Girl's Zooey Deschanel, who was nominated for lead actress in a comedy.
“When you are a little kid and you dream about being an actor this is sort of the height of whatever you would imagine. I can’t explain the feeling. It’s the ultimate. And to have moved from doing movies to doing television this last year it just means so much to have been embraced by the television community. I love doing TV. I feel really fortunate.” What has a full season of primetime television taught her? “I realized how nice it is to get to explore a character and go in depth and see how a character reacted to different situations,” said Deschanel, who was getting ready to leave town for a business trip with her best friend for her website HelloGiggles.com. “It’s a really satisfying experience for an actor.”
