Clive Owen: Lead actor, miniseries or movie
It's Clive Owen's first nomination, for playing Ernest Hemingway in HBO's Hemingway & Gellhorn. He spent six months researching and reading everything about the legendary scribe. "What I took away from this was what an amazing writer he was," says Owen.
He's in the country, in the UK, after wrapping Blood Ties in New York. And he still treasures his experience shooting Hemingway, especially the ability to immerse himself in the author's life. "The whole experience was so great. It's so thrilling. It was pretty special going to his house in Cuba. That's one of the strongest memories. It was like walking into a place that you thought he could walk into at any point," says Owen.
So, how would Hemingway celebrate the nomination? "I have no idea. I really don’t know," laughs Owen.
As for Owen, "I'll be very low key. I won't go crazy. I'll just be at home with the family." -- Freydkin
