Natalie Portman
Her turn as a mentally unstable ballerina in "Black Swan" is considered an early front-runner for Best Actress.
What was the most demanding part of playing a ballerina?
The training was the most exciting part—it was a challenge. I've never had that much training. It was five to eight hours a day of physicality. It was extreme.
We've heard that you put in a year's worth of ballet training to prepare.
I would do this kind of training again because it's so rewarding. It's one of those things where, if you put in a lot, you get out a lot.
Do you plan on doing more dance?
Not ballet but I'll always dance!
