Gerard Butler, "300"
Butler proved his strength as military mastermind King Leonidas in 2007’s graphic novel-inspired action hit. Never has a slow-motion camera more meticulously measured every muscle of an actor’s body, and rarely has a leading man gone shirtless for the majority of the film. True, many of his Spartan soldiers sported helmets, spears and capes—but director Zack Snyder was careful not to obscure too much of Butler’s beefy bod. From the movie posters to the trailers, Leonidas’ legendary brawn was celebrated coast to coast.
