Like a Prohibition-era 'Sopranos'... except more cut-throat
Written and produced by Terence Winter of "The Sopranos" and with a pilot episode directed by Martin Scorsese, "Boardwalk Empire" is already walking the walk and talking the talk. Set in New Jersey during the early days of Prohibition, "Empire" introduces us to a very different America, run by Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi), who rules over bootlegging, gambling and prostitution on the Atlantic City seaboard.
"Boardwalk Empire" premieres Sunday, September 19, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
