Jill Haverkamp, 27, Marketing and public relations co-chair for the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition, marketing manager at Olde Main Brewing Company in Ames.
First album: "Probably 'Out of the Blue' by Debbie Gibson or 'Nevermind' by Nirvana. I guess I was a little pop grunge princess."
Musical highlight of 2009: "Watching Broken Social Scene at 80/35 and getting to meet them and talk with them about their songwriting process. That was definitely my best moment of the year, if not one of all time."
Best show outside Iowa: "Radiohead at Lollapalooza in 2008. It was my first time seeing them live and it gave me chills. It was amazing."
Local band she's listening to: Cashes Rivers. "I think he's a really beautiful singer-songwriter and has a lot of potential. I'm excited to see what he can do." Also, The Autumn Project. "Their music really pulls you in," she said. "They need to get on soundtracks. Their stuff would be perfect for movies."
What Des Moines needs: Bands becoming more focused on the business side of the industry. "Having that business knowledge is a key aspect of bands breaking bigger regionally," she said.
Song she's embarrassed to admit she likes: "Pop" by 'N Sync. "There's nothing wrong with listening to a little catchy number by some nice-looking men every once in a while!"
2010 goal: Launching a new music marketing agency, On Pitch, with Hillary Brown of Lava Row.

Censorship alive and well. My comment wasn't bad or obscenity-laden or anything like that. All I was asking on Saturday was why there was no live 2...
