$10 off 80/35 passes, Spring Hootenany news

The Des Moines Music Coalition just released a code to get $10 off two-day passes to the 80/35 Music Festival. If you enter the code "WINVIP" while buying tickets now through May 31 you'll get $10 off the two-day pass and be entered to win two VIP ticket upgrades.

The upgrade gets you priority entrance, food and drink discounts, access to the VIP lounge and an exclusive view of the main stage.

Drawings will be held May 25 and June 1, with five pairs of VIP tickets be awarded each date. If you buy before the first drawing you will be eligible for both drawings.

If you have already bought tickets email inquiry@desmoinesmc.com to be entered in the drawing for the VIP upgrade.

In tangentially 80/35 related news, Wild Card band $trick9 & The Truth host The Spring Hootenanny May 23 at The Des Moines Social Club. Brother Trucker, Man of the Mountain and Asparagrass also perform. There will also be a Farmer's Daughter contest, a Winner-Take-All Bear Growing Contest (you'll have to shave on the spot) and a  Tall Tales Stage.

I know one of the prizes they have is the already shaved-off beards of local pseudo celebrities like the author of this blog. My beard was an easy thing to donate, since I can grow another one in 45 minutes.
