80/35 possibilities in new Summerfest announcement?

Summerfest in Milwaukee has announced the lineup for its Miller Lite Oasis stage, and I thought I would check out some bands that might fit in with 80/35:

July 6: Atmosphere, Paul Oakenfold

July 7: Cake

July 8: Sublime with Rome

The good news is, all of them have at least one of the 80/35 dates open. But despite the cake in the 80/35 hints video, Cake is a headlining level band and 80/35 already has its two headliners. Sorry, but Ithink there will be no Cake this year.

If Sublime with Rome isn't headliner level, they're at least close. I suspect they're a no as well. Sorry to any Sublime fans out there, but I don't see this one as a great loss. Without Brad Nowell, this band doesn't really excite me.

Paul Oakenfold, maybe. If he played I suspect it would be closing out one of the free stages. He would be a big draw for DJ fans.

The most likely on this list is probably Atmosphere. The festival has featured a number of Rhymesayers acts over the years, but never the label's founding act. They're not headliner level, but have solid Midwest appeal.

We'll find out for sure in a few weeks.
