Bill Doss tribute by Poison Control Center and Brass Bed
Olivia Tremor Control member and Elephant 6 co-founder Bill Doss passed away on July 30 at the age of 43. The members of The Poison Control Center were all big fans of OTC, and Patrick Fleming had performed on stage with them (which got a mention here).
Fleming talked about his admiration for the band on PCC's website, but music always seems like a more fitting tribute than words in a situation like this.
Last year Poison Control Center and Brass Beds recorded a Daytrotter session that included covers of the Olivia Tremor Control songs "No Growing" and "The Opera House." Daytrotter possed it today, with thoughts from the bands.
PCC and The Brass Beds are set to perform together Sept. 7 at the Vaudeville Mews. Maybe if you twist their arms a bit they'll perform thse songs live at that show.
