BiLT building a guitar for Jeff Tweedy

Earlier this week I was following around Brandon Darner from The Envy Corps for a few hours and we stopped in to The Lutherie Shop and chatted with the guys from BiLT guitars a bit. The custom guitar makers have made instruments for a number of well-known musicians in that time, like Nels Cline of Wilco.

But this guitar is for a different Wilco member, frontman  Jeff Tweedy. The goal is to have this instrument ready in time to give the singer-songwriter before Wilco's Dec. 4 show at the Val Air Ballroom. Will he play it at the show? My guess is no, since a live setting might not be the ideal place to try out a new instrument. Still, it's cool to see Bill Henss and Tim Thelen's work by appreciated by some of the best in the industry.

Since today is 11/11/11, it felt fitting to point out this custom instrument. I forgot to check the knobs to see if they go to 11.
