Clive After 5 lineup, ZZZ sale
Clive After 5 has announced its 2009 schedule, and things have changed a bit from previous years. Some familiar faces are returning, but the Clive Jaycees have also added a few new bands and are drawing some from out of town. Check it out:
May 1: The Mighty Shortbus (Wisconsin southern roots rock)
May 8: Swing Crew (Wisconsin variety cover band)
May 15: Ladyfingers (dueling piano group)
May 22: Kountertop (classic rock version of Boone band KTop)
May 29: Jason Brown (local rising country star)
June 5: Anchondo (Omaha reggae band)
June 12: Gimmik (local cover band)
June 19: Comfort Zone and Toaster (part of the Clive Festival)
June 26: Flipside (local R&B/jazz/cover band)
July 10: Jemstate (local rock band)
July 17: North of Grand (local powerpop/punk band)
July 24: SNAFU (piano-driven local rock)
July 31: Wicked Liz & The Bellyswirls (Quad Cities rock band)
Aug. 7: Final Mix (local R&B)
The drink options have also expanded a bit to include Coors, Miller, Boulevard, Fat Tire, Blue Moon, Smirnoff and Mike's Hard Lemonade. Admission is $5 for all dates except Jason Brown, which will be $8. The admission includes three $1 drink tickets.
In other news, ZZZ Records, 2200 Ingersoll Ave., is having a used CD sale April 1-8. All used CDs will be $5, with some select $1 bargain bins.
