Daughtry in Ames

Is it "American Idol" day? First the Jordin Sparks gets added to Britney Spears' show, now Daughtry is playing Hilton Coliseum in Ames on Oct. 22. Add in Kelly Clarkson at the fair on Saturday and we're on Idol overload.

Daughtry's new album, "Leave This Town," was released in July.

Theory of a Deadman and Cavo open the show. Tickets are $29.50-$39.50 through Ticketmaster and go on sale Saturday.

Playing Hilton is a pretty big leap. In 2007 Daughtry played the House of Bricks. If he keeps growing that exponentially, a 2011 show would require an arena the size of Rhode Island to contain it.
