Sean Forbes was born into a family of musicians, but lost his hearing at nine-months old due to spinal meningitis. Despite that, he still pursued music as a career and co-founded The Deaf Professional Arts Network.

Forbes will be performing at Vaudeville Mews at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Before the show he'll be speaking with and performing with students at East High School. In live shows Forbes uses something he calls "buttkicker," a portable vibrating floor system that lets the audience feel real time beats, rhythms and vibrations in a way that they can understand the music even if they can't hear.

Forbes debut album, "Perfect Imperfection," is due out April 2. Admission to the show is $13. Here's a video for "Def Deaf Girls," which seems to have an incorrect release date mentioned in it.
