Free Soul Asylum concert on Aug. 31

Last year the Hy-Vee Triathlon brought the Gin Blossoms to downtown Des Moines for a free show, and they're keeping the 90s goodness rolling with a free Soul Asylum show Aug. 31 at Des Moines City Hall, Grand Ave. and East Second Street.

The band hit it big with its 1992 album, "Grave Dancers Union." It included the massive hit "Runaway Train" that MTV played almost non-stop back when it played music videos.

Instead of posting that video, here's "Just Like Anyone" from their 1995 follow-up "Let Your Dim Light Shine." The video stars a "My So-Called" Life era Claire Danes.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and is free dollars and free cents.
