George Clinton coming to the Val Air Ballroom

Early November in Iowa isn't an unusual time for someone with the name Clinton to be showing up in Iowa. But this won't be Bill or Hillary doing some last minute stumping before election day. Instead, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic is making a return visit to Des Moines on Nov. 3.

Tickets are $20 in advance and go on sale at noon Friday through ticketweb.com. The local band Faculty Lounge will open.

I've seen George Clinton once in my life, a 1997 show at Drake University. 15 years ago. Clinton was a spritely 56 at the time.
