UPDATE: On People's website, August Burns Red is listed as playing on Sept. 13. Owner Tom Zmolek said the date was double booked, and they are working on rebooking the Great American Taxi show.

If you like Vince Herman, we're getting a double dose of him this fall. I spoke with Herman last month before his band Leftover Salmon played 80/35.

He'll return with his other band, Great American Taxi Sept. 13 at People's Court. No word yet on tickets, but I'll update this once I know.

And Leftover Salmon will play DG's Tap House in Ames on Oct. 19. Tickets are $30 through Midwestix, and I would expect this show to sell out. So don't wait too long.

And while I'm mentioning jam acts at DG's, 80/35 acts Useful Jenkins and Dead Larry return on Aug. 10 ($5), as do Family Groove Company on Aug. 18 ($10) and Dumptruck Butterlips on Sept. 15 ($5).

The Travelin' McCoys, featuring Bill Nershi of The String Cheese Incident, play there on Aug. 30. Tickets to that show are $25. To tie everything back together, Nershi is in the Emmit-Nershi band with Bill Emmit of Leftover Salmon.
