Max Wellman's 'Home for the Holidays' details

Max Wellman returns for his third annual "Home for the Holiday" concerts, with shows Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-16 at the Des Moines Social Club's Kirkwood Theater. The concerts will feature Wellman's new seven-piece band, directed by Dave Rezek.

The early shows will be the family-friendly shows Wellman has done in recent years, while 9:30 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturday will be co-hosted by Christopher the Conquered's Chris Ford and feature different guests from around the Des Moines music scene.

Tickets will go on sale Monday through midwestix.com.

And speaking of Christopher the Conquered, they're featured on the new Iowa City Song Project album along with 30 other artists who have written new songs about Iowa City. The album comes out Nov. 6, and there are album release shows Nov. 2-3 in Iowa City.
