Modest Mouse is second 80/35 headliner
Seattle's Modest Mouse will headline the July 4 date of 80/35, closing out the third year of the music festival. This is the band's first return visit since selling out the Val Air Ballroom in 2007.
Also added to the bill are:
The Heavy (July 4): Who are they? You probably recognize this Brittish group's hit "How You Like Me Now?" From the crazy Kia commercial with toys riding bulls and getting tattoos and stuff. Vocalist Kelvin Swaby has a great James Brown quality to his voice. Here's the video, in case you haven't seen it (or want to see it again).
William Elliott Whitmore (July 3): An Iowan native and blues musician with a worldwide following. Whitmore sold out the Vaudeville Mews when he played there last fall. You can check out my interview with Whitmore here.
Sara Watkins (July 4): The fiddle player for Nickel Creek. Last year Watkins released her self-titled solo debut.
Dar Williams (July 4): A female folk musician who has worked with Joan Baez over the years.
Cashes Rivers and Omega Dog (July 3): Local groups and both Mixies award winners.
