More 80/35 speculation
I'll admit that when I was 15 I totally wanted to see Soul Asylum in concert. The group is playing the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake on July 3. I'm not sure if July 4 is open for them or not, since their website still lists their Rib America show last summer as "upcoming."
When I interviewed Wayne Coyne last summer he mentioned staying at a hotel with Soul Asylum in the 90s and the latter almost destroying the place with firecrackers. If they come I'll be sure to ask about that.
Between Soul Asylum on the third and Counting Crows at Saturday in the Park on July fourth you could have a great 90s flashback weekend if you want.

i agree. festival resources would be better used on some newer acts.

I would check them on a free stage but please no has-beens, this is suppose to be about indie music, not indie music from the early 90s
