New music venue coming to East Village
New music venue coming to East Village
Tim Flanagan, owner Flanagan’s Restaurant & Lounge on Ingersoll, is planning to open Club 504 in the East Village in late December or early January. The venue, at 504 E. Locust St., was the former home of the Downtown Church.
Flanagan said he's aiming for a mature crowd and is looking to book country, Latin and 70s acts, throwing out Johnny Rivers and John Prine as the type of performers he is targeting.
Club 504 has space for 600-700 attendees depending on how tables are set up. The bar will feature a large variety of bottled beers, but none on tap and no food. Flanagan's goal is to have most shows start around 7 p.m. and be done by around 12:30 a.m.
The bar will only be open on nights when there are shows, normally Thursday through Saturday with some Wednesday shows. That may change up if a good act is looking to land a Monday or Tuesday spot. Advance tickets will be sold through one of the local ticket sites, but Flanagain hasn't settled on which one yet.
