North of Grand CD release show, DJ Eight Ten's Killer Party
Local band North of Grand has set Sept. 14 at the release date for its fifth album, "A Farewell to Rockets." The album will be the band's debut on the local Brolester label. It's also the band's first album as a quartet, with Matt Wellendorf now providing the band with a second guitar.
The show is at The Gas Lamp. Admission to the show is $5, and you'll be able to get the album there for $8. After the 14th it will be $10.
The band will be playing two sets that evening, with DJ Eight Ten spinning in between.
Speaking of DJ Eight Ten, he'll be performing at the Killer Party Sept. 15 at Wooly's. Chris Ford of Christopher the Conquered, Sharika Soal of LadySoal, Moon Chaplin, Crystal Fields and Honey Kainn will all be providing live vocals over Eight Ten's spinning.
Phoenix L'Amour will do a burlesque show and Van Holmgren will do live painting. Admission is $5.
