School Sucks: A Soulful Goodbye to Summer from Mint

It's that time of year every kid dreads: the new school year. But local band Mint is sending it off in style.

The group is sending off summer in style with a free show starting at 9 p.m. Friday at Wooly's. LadySoal and Jordan Mayland (of around 30 different bands) are also on the bill.

Of course, if you're a parent this could also be a good excuse to celebrate your kid heading back to school. There are two sides to every coin.

Speaking of LadySoal, they'll be performing with Naia Kete of "The Voice" Sept. 14 at the Maintenance Shop in Ames. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
