Surf Ballroom's Winter Dance Party to feature Gary Busey!?!

The Surf Ballroom has announced the lineup for its 2013 Winter Dance Party, and it might not be quite what you expect. Gary Busey will be the headliner.

Before Busey picked up his... let's say ecentric personality, he portrayed Buddy Holly in in the 1978 film "The Buddy Holly Story." In fact, Busey was nominated for an Academy Award for best actor.

Busey will be performing his 35th anniversary tribute of "The Buddy Holly Story" Feb. 2 with Tommy Allsup. Also performing that day will be British Invasion Tribute featuring Eric Burdon & The Animals, Peter Asher of Peter & Gordon, Denny Laine of the Moody Blues & Wings, and Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies.

Jan. 30: Winter Dance Party Family Sock Hop with Denny & The DC Drifters.

Jan. 31: Ricky Nelson Remembered featuring MAtthew & Gunnar Nelson and Gary U.S. Bonds with Denny & The DC Drifters.

Feb. 1: Witner Dance Party Sock Hop with Marvelous Marvin Short & His Winter Dance Party Sock Hop Band.

Tickets to the event are $110 for the entire event. They go on sale Nov. 7 through surfballroom.com.
