This is crazy: Carly Rae Jepsen playing The Point

Here's an unusual concert announcement for you: "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen will be playing The Point in Clive on April 4.

Jepsen's website currently shows her as opening for Justin Bieber in Germany on April 3 and April 5, but Greg Chance, station manager for KISS 107.5 - which is promoting the show - said Jepsen is indeed coming to town. Owner of The Point, Chris Ranallo, also confirmed.

Chance said the tour is a part of a 10 date radio promo tour Jepsen is doing. Jepsen has also been announced as performing at the March 31 White Party T-Dance, which also conflicts with an announced date in Germany.

I've reached out to Jepsen's management, Simkin Artist Management, label, 604 Records, and booking company, The Agency Group, but have not heard back from any of them.

The Point holds around 350 people, while Jepsen's videos have been viewed around 100 million times on Youtube. So space will be limited. To get a guaranteed spot you need to register on the KISS site. A select number of fans will be drawn for a meet and greet with Jepsen before the show and get to hang out once she starts performing a few songs.

The general public can get in the old-fashioned way: By waiting in line. It's a free show, and other than by registering there's no guarantee you'll get in.

"It's first come, first serve," Chance said. "We'll open the doors somewhere around 7 p.m. I'm sure we'll have plenty of people not able to get in."

Here's the video for Jepsen's hit "It's Always a Good Time," a duet with Iowa-born Adam Young (Owl City):
