Train added to Iowa State Fair Grandstand lineup

Isn't that just like a train, the station is empty and then three come along at once. In this case it's Train the band, who will make their third Des Moines appearance in as many years with an August 16 performance at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand.

The band played the Grandstand in 2011 with Maroon 5, and last year headlined the All-Star Summer Concert last July at Water Works Park.

Matt Nathanson will open the show. Ticket info is still TBA.

The announced lineup so far is:

Aug. 8: Casting Crowns with Jeremy Camp.

Aug. 9: The Happy Together Tour with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, Chuck Negron (of Three Dog Night), Mark Lindsay (of Paul Revere & The Raiders) and Gary Lewis. .

Aug. 13: Victoria Justice

Aug. 16: Train and Matt Nathanson.

Aug. 18: Alan Jackson and Gary Allan. .
