Twice the opportunity to see certain bands
Last week Greensky Bluegrass played a show at People's Court, just a few weeks before their main stage slot at the 80/35 Music Festival. There are actually several bands providing you with multiple opportunities to catch them in the next month or so.
Tonight Cornmeal opens for Bruce Hornsby at the Simon Estes Amphitheater. But if you can't make it out tonight, or Cornmeal is who you really want to see, they'll be performing at DG's Tap House on Friday. Tickets are $15 and Mr. Baber's Neighbors open.
The 80/35 Play-In features Love Songs for Lonely Monsters, Seedlings and Holy White Hounds Thursday at The Gas Lamp. All three will be playing the festival, but here are some other opportunities to see them:
LS4LM: Opening for Datagun June 29 at Vaudeville Mews and playing with Bright Giant June 30 at The Gas Lamp
Seedlings:Opening for Dvotchka July 5 at Wooly's.
Holy White Hounds: Playing June 30 at Vaudeville Mews and with Rock Paper Dynamite July 8 at The Gas Lamp.
Thankful Dirt plays Friday at the Des Moines Arts Festival, then again opening for Finders & Youngberg June 27 at The Gas Lamp. Thankful Dirt also hosts a Songwriter Night June 28 at House of Bricks, though they won't be playing that show. Brian Joens, Kat Darling, Todd Partridge, John Price and Tim Verdon will be.
Useful Jenkins and Dead Larry are both playing at 80/35, but they're also teaming up for a June 30 show at The Marquee (the former Ingersoll Dinner Theater). Useful Jenkins will also be playing with Jon Wayne & The Pain June 29 at DG's Tap House.
